Homework

Homework will be the same as last year!!! Your child will be required to
practice Math Facts, Spelling, and they need to read at least 20 minutes
every night!!

Your child will need to fill out the cover page every day (your signature is
required) and turn it in on Mondays.

Math Facts: Each day your child will bring home a math fact paper every day
that they worked on in school, that day. They need to verbally practice the
top section with you. Then you need to time them for one minute while they
write the answers to that section. They should try to meet their goal. The
goal is written at the bottom of the page.
First graders: They will be starting off with Mastering Numerals and will
need to practice writing faster each night as their math facts. It is the
same process. Use a seperate sheet of paper but practice the numbers that
they brought home whether they passed or not!

Spelling: Mondays-write each word 5 times each (best handwriting)
Tuesdays- look each word up in the dictionary and read the definition. (2nd
and 3rd graders can write the definition)
Wednesdays- use each word in a sentence.
Thursdays- practice test with parent or older sibling.
Fridays- nothing because they will take the test at school.

Reading: They need to read books at their level and for at least 20 minutes
if not more! They need to write the title of the book on their homework
cover page.

HOMEWORK WILL BE TURNED IN EVERY MONDAY AT 8:30AM.
