February Newsflash
I apologize for not getting the Newsflash out sooner this month. February has gotten away from me already. There is a lot going on this month (as usual), so hold on to your seats, because here we go!
Presentations have begun, and they have been amazing! Please remember to have your students at school before 8:30 am. Every morning so far, the first presenter has only had about 20 out of 30 audience members at their presentation.
A permission slip went home this week for the play that we will be attending at CamelbackHigh School on Friday. Please have your student dress as if they were going to the theater that morning. It should be good!
On February 14th, we will pass out valentines to each other in the afternoon. Students were asked to please give out valentines if they would like to receive valentines. We will ask the children to save their treats to enjoy at home, so you may help them make good decisions. A list went home with all the names of the students in the class to help them write out their valentines.
February 17thwe are allowing the students to wear hats all day (indoors too) for Hats On Day!
February 20this Presidents Day. There will be no academic school that day. Have a nice day off!
The Tetra String Quartet will be performing for us on February 21st at 1:00.
The Australia Luncheon will be held on February 24thfrom 11:30 to 1:00. Please bring an Australian food to share at our pot luck and enjoy a tour of our amazing projects! There is a sign up on the class web page. Also, please remember that we are only zoned for parking in the Meadowbrook parking lot. The city does not allow us to park on the side streets around the school. We run the risk of losing our use permit if we violate that law. Thanks for your support!
Spring Break is coming up quickly on March 5th-9th.
Reminders went home for second semester Pizza Friday payments. If you need to make payment arrangements, please contact me by email. We need to budget the pizza money for the remainder of the year. We also have a few snack spots to fill. Please sign up if you have not already done so this year. Thank you!
It is that time of year again… all of the children have grown! They are all getting taller, stronger, and HUNGRIER! Please check with your child to see if they have enough food for snack and lunch during the day. If they stay for an Enrichment class or Circle after school, they should also have an afternoon snack. We are giving out food on a daily basis to many children who truly are still hungry and have eaten all of their snack and lunch.
Please remember to check folders daily and ensure that your child is bringing their folder back and forth daily.
We have an excellent community this year! They are quite amazing and interested in everything! I am enjoying observing their growth! Thank you for the opportunity.
