Homework

What is due Monday?

· Daily reading log (with parent signature)

· Spelling sign off (completed 2 at home activities)

· Saxon (5 lessons; even problems)

· Weekend Writing

· Plus anything else Leticia/David might assign

Reading

Students are required to read for twenty minutes per night. This may include reading for lit circles, book reports, or other long-term projects. Enclosed you will find a copy of the log sheet we will ask you to fill out for us.

Spelling

Students will bring home spelling words and definitions on Monday and are expected to do two activities throughout the week. Testing will be on Friday. Activities are online at wordlywise3000.com. If a student does not have computer time at home, please let us know. We are also asking that the parents sign off on their spelling homework on the back of the reading log form. We will not need to see these works unless there is a specific problem or question.

Weekend Writing

An assignment will be given every Friday, following a specific writing lesson. These are due each Monday. It is the student’s responsibility to record the assignment given each Friday, in their “weekend writing notebook” although they may be found on our classroom website.

Math

Our school has purchased a web-based program called Study Island. We will be using it later in the year to prepare for AIMS testing. Until then we are requiring each student to do five Saxon math lessons a week at home. These assignments will correspond with the weekly lessons.

The students will do the odd numbered question in class and the even number questions at home. We would like the math turned in on Monday mornings in the communication folder.
