Welcome to our class

Hello,

My name is Patty Langhurst.  I have been at Villa Montessori School since 
1981.  I taught at the pre-primary level until 1995.  I then moved up to 
Elementary 1 and have been teaching at this level since then.

I graduated from ASU in 1975.  I worked with handicapped children for a few 
years before becoming interested in the Montessori Method.  I have 
Montessori certifications with 3-6 year olds (NCME) and with 6-9 year olds 
(AMS) I look forward to another wonderful year.

Mission Statement for Our Class

Realizing the profound influence a teacher has on the life of a child that 
is 6-9 years old I strive to be an inspiring role model in their presense.  
I am committed to seeing the whole child, their strengths and their 
struggles and then providing a nurturing, safe, organized, and fun 
environment where each child can develop a strong spirit, a joy for living 
and learning, strong academic skills and the confidence to go forward and 
find their place in the world.
