Identify the letters by the sound they make - not the letter name.
Teach your child lower case, rather than capitals.
Help your child write his/her name with a capital at the beginning and the
rest as lower case.
Do as much counting as possible.
Read to your child on a daily basis.
Foster as much independence as possible.
When your child turns five please help them learn how to tie their shoes.
