As many of you know, I am teacher-by-day and Homework Club lady-by-night, so
basically this means, I am ALWAYS at school! It's a good thing I love
Britannia so much...
This will be my fourth year teaching at Britannia, and I am excited to be
working again in both the English and Social Studies departments. I will be
teaching English 8, English 10 Venture, English 11 and Social Studies 10
Venture this year. Room #306 is going to be a busy place!
You can also find me in Homework Club - Room #221 - on Monday, Tuesday and
Thursday evenings from 3:30-6:30 pm. Stop by for a book chat, a game of
Scrabble, a bite of Nutella, a crossword challenge or even to do some
homework - whatever works for you!
Our classroom is, first and foremost, a place of learning, but we will never
learn anything without enthusiasm, interest and fun! We should arrive each
day excited to learn a new skill or read a new story, and prepared to give
the class our fullest attention.
Cellphones, iPods, PSPs etc. don't contribute to an enthusiastic and
interesting environment. Rather, they insult everyone in the room and signal
that you are not interested in anything we might be discussing. Please
make a positive contribution to our learning experience by turning off your
electronic devices and keeping them out of sight during class time.
Tardiness and "skipping" also detract from an enthusiastic and interesting
environment. If you arrive late, please take your seat as quickly and quietly
as possible. If you miss a class, you must bring a note from a
parent/guardian excusing your absence. If you do not have a note, you may
not make up any tests, assignments or submissions from day. Please show
respect for your classmates and yourself by arriving on time and attending
all of your classes.
