Get to know more about me:

I come from Milwaukee, Wisconsin which is near Chicago in the United States.
I have five brothers and sisters and I am the oldest. I grew up playing
school and here I am a real teacher. Before I came to Georgia, I was teaching
1st Grade in Bucaramanga, Colombia and before that 2nd Grade in Ho Chi Minh City,
Vietnam. I felt like I had to come back to South America after living in La Paz, Bolivia for two years
teaching ESL before I moved to Vietnam. However, I was no stranger to Asia after living in
Shanghai, China for four years teaching Speech and Reading to 1st and 2nd
graders.

One of my favorite quotes is by Ernest Hemingway. He said "I like to listen.
I have learned a great deal from listening carefully. Most people never
listen." I believe in this saying so I try to strengthen students' listening skills.

One of my favorite activities is to walk my little dog, Cuy (or does she walk me?) and of course READ!.
In addition to reading, I like to enjoy music, dance, hike, cook and go to cultural events.

Inquiry-based Learning

When students create their own sense of our world, they are producing
knowledge. We will work together, learning from all of the vast experiences
everyone of us brings into the classroom in order to help each other make
connections in our world.
