Hi there! My name is Michele Clement. I have been teaching first grade for
ten years, and look forward to the beginning of my eleventh year in first
grade just as if it was my first time.
I have been married to my wonderful husband, Mike, for 13 years, and on
Jume 9th we welcomed our daughter Brielle to the family. We have spent the
summer getting used to being parents, and getting to know our little angel.
We live happily in Aptos, about a mile and a half from the beach. We have
been updating our home, slowly but surely since we bought it in the summer of
2006. It's an ongoing, never-ending process, and going slower since the baby
joined us, but it's also fun.
In my spare time I like to be outside, walking on the beach, reading in the
sun, or taking Brielle on walks. I also enjoy doing things
with my hands, like painting, crocheting and sewing. Another favorite
activity, that I am less able to indulge in since becoming a homeowner, is
shopping. I love the thrill of a good bargain! And there are so many cute
baby things out there!
Of course our main priority is learning, but the other most important things
in my first grade class are fun and responsibility. While we are learning
the necessary academic skills, students will be learning to be responsible
for their behavior, their materials, their assignments and their own
learning. I know all this learning and responsibilty can be hard work! So I
will always be sure to make our work as fun as it can be so everyone has an
excellent experience in first grade. LEARNING IS FUN!
