Self Doll
This is the first homework assignment of the year. You will be bringing home a Self Doll at Back To School Night on September 3 so make sure you come! Please assist your child in cutting out the doll. Then please help your student decorate or dress the doll to represent him/herself. The doll may be dressed to portray any age your child wishes: a baby, a kindergartener or who your child would like to be when s/he grows up. Please have a good time together and be creative as you dress your paper doll. You may use any type of material you wish (paper, pen, fabric, glitter, etc.) You might wish to glue the paper doll to a heavier background and attach a hat or yarn hair or jewelry. Also please have your childwrite or dictate a story that tells about their special unique person and attach it to the paper doll. Each child will get to share their doll with the class and they will be put up around the room as we continue to learn about the uniqueness of each child in our class. I hope you enjoy this activity with your child. I want to remind all parents to please listen to their children and allow your kindergartener to work on their dolls as much as possible. Sometimes parents have so much fun with the project that it turns into an adult project rather than a student/parent project. Please send the completed self dolls back to school by your childs first mandatory day of sharing September 15. Thanks and have fun!
