Does my child need a backpack?
Your child needs to bring a backpack to school daily. It should have a zipper
or fastener that your child can open and close easily without help, and be big
enough to hold a 9 x12 pocket folder without bending it. It should not have
wheels. Child’s name should be written inside.
Does my child have a snack a school?
SNACKS
Each family provides 24 individually packaged snacks for 24 students at the
beginning of each month to share. We have refrigerators in every classroom
and prefer healthy snacks such as cheese sticks, Gogurt, granola bars, fruit,
graham crackers, etc.
Are birthdays celebrated?
BIRTHDAYS
You may bring in cupcakes or cookies for snack on your child’s birthday.
Please no birthday cakes as they are difficult, time consuming, and messy to
serve. If you would like to send party invitations to the students in our
class, please choose to invite all of the girls or all of the boys or the
whole class if you would like invitations passed out during school. I would be
happy to quietly put these invitations in the cubbies. If just a few children
are invited, please send these invitations on your own.
Is there a dress code?
CLOTHING
No spaghetti straps, tube tops, or halter tops. Students should be able to
fasten and unfasten belts, if worn, and buttons and zippers on pants. Tennis
shoes are best for our daily program. Sandals are permitted, as long as they
have straps for front and back foot support. Flip-flops or backless sandals
are not permitted.
