I have been teaching for 21 years and love it more than ever! This will be my
sixteenth year in kindergarten. I have also taught first and second grades,
and a k-1 combination class. Needless to say, kindergarten is my favorite.
My husband and I have two sons who attended Elk Grove schools. After college
our son, Scott, began working for the EPA and married the most wonderful girl
named Heather, who taught kindergarten at Foulks Ranch, but like so many
others, has received her pink slip. Our youngest, Daniel, is completing his
master's degree at Claremont Graduate University. We also have a sweet little
dog named Bailey, who was very upset over the 4th of July fireworks.
In addition to teaching, my favorite things to do are gardening, cooking,
bicycle riding, hiking, camping, art, and and watching foreign films.
I believe that kindergarten should be a joyful place where all children
develop a lifelong love for the learning process. My mission is to develop
confident, effective thinkers and problem solvers by providing an environment
where each student's natural inquisitiveness is encouraged and nurtured.
I have high expectations for all students and will provide the differentiated
instruction necessary for each child to meet individual learning goals, EGUSD
Standards, and California State Standards.
I will strive to create a strong sense of community while creating a caring
and respectful environment. I am looking forward to getting to know my new
students and their families!
