No markers, pastels, binder paper, or computer paper. Work must be in color.

PROJECT DUE THURSDAY, MARCH 8
GRADING POLICY
Every student begins each trimester with an A in art class.
Each missing piece of work negatively affects a student's grade by 10 points. Each late assignment deducts 5 points.
As an example, a student with one missing assignment and one late assignment would receive a grade of 85% or a B, (100-15=85)
My expectation is that each child show reasonable effort by turning in assignments neatly, on time, and with their name clearly marked on their work. Any student whose work does not meet this criteria risks receiving an "insufficient effort" mark on their report card. Please remember that most trimester grades are based on an average of 10-12 assignments total, thus making these missing and late assignments crucial to my assessment of a child's progress. It is each student's responsibility to see to it that each one of these assignments be turned in. In addition, because of the volume of unmarked work, assignments turned in to me without a student name or number will not receive full credit.
Each student in grades 3 - 8 will receive a behavior contract on the first day of art class. Students and their parent(s) will be expected to sign this behavior contract and return next class session.
STUDENT BEHAVIOR CONTRACT
Success in art class begins with proper behavior.
Proper behavior is my choice.
I choose to:
Be an active listener,
Speak in a voice which is both appropriate to a classroom and respectful of others in language and in tone,
Use all art supplies in a safe and appropriate manner,
Move effectively, quietly, and efficiently from task to task.
If I choose not to follow these rules I accept the following consequences:
First, I receive a warning.
Next, my parent receives an e mail or phone call.
Lastly, I receive a referral.
Any ongoing behavior problems may result in a parent/teacher conference and/or a poor conduct grade for the grading period.
