Expectations

Supplies:

Students will bring all relevant texts and materials to class each day.  
Pen, pencil, binder paper, notebook/ three ring binder with dividers, Other supplies as requested.       

Behavioral Expectations:

The guiding principle for this class is RESPECT.  Respect for one’s self, fellow classmates, teachers, 
and the school must be evident in our actions and decisions.  Any behavior that is not conducive to 
the learning environment violates this principle.  Choosing to violate the policies and principles of 
the class will result in a series of escalating negative consequences.  Choosing to adhere to the 
policies and principles of the class will result in positive consequences.  

School and Class Rules:

Respect yourself, others, and things.
Contribute to the learning environment.
Follow school and classroom procedures.

Policies:

At all times, the policies and rules of Assumption School will be followed.
Class officially begins when you are lined up outside of the classroom.  All classroom rules apply 
from that moment until the end of class.  
Appropriate material must be available for each class for discussion and participation.  
Listen when others are speaking.  
Respect everyone in the class, including visitors.  
Follow directions the first time.  
No eating or drinking in the classroom.  Bottled water is allowed.
Use effective communication skills: raising hand, appropriate tone of voice, listening to others, etc.
Be responsible for your learning and support the learning environment of others. 
Accept that you will make mistakes.  Learn from them and move on.  
Disciplinary Policy:

If the above-mentioned rules and policies are not respected, one or more of the following negative 
consequences may result.  

Step One: A Warning 
Step Two: Direct Intervention (for example: redirection, removal of problem item, etc.)  
Step Three: Parent Contact
Step Four: Administration/Office
* Severe Clause: A serious offense will immediately result in a direct referral to the Office.  
Grade Grading Policy:

Your grade for each trimester will be calculated using the following percentages:

HISTORY
	
	Class work, including quizzes: 25%
	Homework: 25%
	Participation:  10%
	Tests and Projects: 40%

VOCABULARY

	Homework: 20% 
	Class work 20%
	Quizzes/Tests: 60%
