I am so excited to start my 17th year of teaching at CAPE. I taught for 6
years at Bedford Open School before we moved to the former Los Nogales
campus and became Los Senderos Open School. I believe every student in my
class has their own "gifts" and it is my goal to find the genius in each
child. I also feel it is very important that my 3rd graders learn
responsiblity and to become more independent workers. Please e-mail me with
any questions or concerns.
Homework that is meaningful in content will be assigned on a daily basis.
This may include work that was not finished during class time. A
Communicator will come home daily. Inside the Communicator, under the day's
date, your child will write a list of homework assignments that will be due
the following day. If an assignment is not due until later, it will say
so. The Communicator needs to be read and signed by a parent or adult each
night. I will collect the homework and check the Communicators each
morning. I will accept late homework if it accompanied by a valid written
excuse from an adult (i.e. illness) Please remember that homework is meant
to be review and practice. I will not assign "busy work". Third grade
should have approximately 30 minutes of homework each night.
