Middle School Registration: If your child is planning to go to Edward Harris Middle School, please attend one of the following infomation sessions: Thursday, February 9, 2012 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. Saturday, February 25, 2012 9:00 – 10:30 a.m. EHMS - Multipurpose Room Students/parents will be given a brief overview of 7th grade and will also receive paperwork so they can register for classes. Once you fill out and sign course paperwork, please return it to me so I can make my language arts/science/social studies recommendations. I will then forward the forms to the middle school. If you are not planning to send your child to Edward Harris next year, it is up to you to contact the middle school to get paperwork and sign up for information sessions and classes. I will also make my recommendations and forward the paperwork on to the appropriate school.
Paper Drive: Our fantastic PTO is organizing a paper drive and we need your help. Please send in donations of reams of copy or binder paper so we have plenty for the remainder of this year and the beginning of next year. Classes receiving the most paper will receive a special treat. I really appreciate any donation you can make. You can either drop it of in the office, or send it to class with your child.
Case Dinner Night Out at Mimi's: You should have received a flyer announcing a fundraiser we are having tomorrow night. Take your family to Mimi's (or bring food home instead) and a percentage of your purchase will be given back to the school. They are also available for lunches. If you don't have the form, mention Raymond Case Elementary School so we get credit.
Fundraising Opportunity: If your child is still trying to earn money for Sly Park, here is another opportunity. Mrs. Taniguchi and I are coordinating Valentine-gram sales. We each will need 4-5 students to put together and distribute the grams. Students who would like to help must be able to stay after school on Thursday and Friday, February 9 and 10. If you would like your child to help, please send in a note.
Steps to Respect: We have been working hard learning anti-bullying skills. It's still going to take some practice, but we are learning to be kinder to each other and refuse any bullying type behavior. On Thursday, February 16th at 5:30 we are having a parent information event in the multi-purpose room. I am looking for 8-10 students who could help put on skits to show the audience what we have learned. If your child would like to participate, please send in a note. I will help them with their skit so they are prepared. Students who perform will receive a homework pass for their extra effort.
