What time does school begin?
Early Birds 8:20 - 12:45
Lator Gators 9:20 - 1:45
How does my child buy food from the cafeteria?
You can send in money each day, in an envelope or baggie with their name on it.
Or you can put money in an account and they can charge their meals.
How do I report an absence?
Call the office (310) 615-2676 x301 the day they are absent.
If you know in advance that your child will be out 5 or
more days, please go to the office and fill out an Independent Study
form. Your child will be given work to do and the school can
still receive ADA funding.
Who is allowed to pick up my child?
If you are not going to pick up your child, please send in a note letting me
know who will be picking him/her up. If another person or organization will
be picking your child up on a regular basis, please add him/her to the emergency
contact list.
Can I help out in the classroom?
Yes, please let me know when you are available and we can work
something out. I have weekly and monthly positions. Additionally,
you can volunteer in the office workroom. We will also need
volunteers for: Parties, field trips, and special occasions.
What is P.T.A.? Should I join?
PTA supports our school in a variety of ways. Every child
benefits from the efforts of the PTA. They fund buses for our
field trips, school wide assemblies and much more. If you would
like to participate in the PTA, they have meeting here at CSS on
the 3rd Wednesday of the month.
I would love my class to have 100% participation in supporting
the PTA. Please join me and join the PTA!
What shall I send for my child's snack and lunch?
Please send something they will eat and do not send too much.
Ideas for snack - yogurt, cheese, fruit, power bars, etc... they
typically only need 1 item. Please do not send cookies, candy or
treats.
For lunch, a protein, veggie, fruit, drink, and maybe a treat.
Please check with your child on a regular basis to see if they
like what you ar packing for them, if they need more or less
food, or if they want to try something new.
Your child is welcome to buy food from the cafeteria. Please
check the school website for a monthly calendar of food that
is available.
