Rules and Consequences

Centralia School has a BEE-havior policy:

BEE SAFE
BEE RESPECTFUL
BEE RESPONSIBLE
BEE SCHOLARLY

My CLASSROOM RULES are as follows:
  1. Follow all adult directions the FIRST time they are given. This means you have to LISTEN.
  2. Raise your hand and wait to be called on by the person in charge so you can comment or question.
  3. Raise your hand to get permission to leave your seat to get paper, a drink, kleenex, a library book, go to your cubbie, sharpen your pencil, throw away trash, etc.
  4. Respect everyone by using kind words and actions.
  5. Use soft or quiet inside voices anywhere in the building including the restrooms.
  6. Stay on task when doing your work. This means you are to do the work the teacher assigned at that moment unless given special permission to do something else. You can also talk to someone about the assignment - not other things.
  7. Keep your hands and feet to yourself at all times.
  8. Use all school materials correctly. Some school materials are books, pencils, pens, rulers, crayons, PE equipment, etc., that were bought by either a parent or teacher. Do NOT hit, throw, tap, spin, drum, squeeze, toss, rip, crumple, smash, etc. those materials unless told to do so by the OWNER. Everything you have was bought and given to you by someone else, and needs to be treated respectfully.
  • If you follow the 4 BEES, you would not break any classroom nor school rules if you think about it...
My DISCIPLINE POLICY is a "3-STRIKE" policy as follows (quite simple):
1st problem - verbal warning is given and name may go on the board or written on paper
2nd problem - STRIKE 1 - name on board with check mark - no other action taken
3rd problem - STRIKE 2 - 2nd check & must serve a 10-minute detention after school
4th problem - STRIKE 3 - 3rd check and must serve lunch detention
5th problem - automatic discipline referral to the Principal
  • Each day, the strikes are wiped clean to start fresh. If there is a habitual issue of breaking the rules daily, warnings will be taken away and go to immediate strikes. Parents will be notified of any habitual behavior problems.
  • If the behavior your child does is severe, he or she will not receive strikes. He or she will be sent to the Principal immediately to be dealt with.
