Today, Thursday, 11/19, we had a wonderful time making pumpkin bread! We
are very thankful for the help of the following parents: Mrs. Solhjou, Mrs.
Bartok, Mr. Caton, Mr. Aflatooni, Mrs. Boyer, Mrs. Bien, Mrs. Goldflam, and
Mrs. Snyder! Look for the bread to come home tomorrow!
Ask your child to tell you about what we are studying in Science. It's
Matter! Ask them to say our Matter Chant for you. Also, ask them to tell you
about atoms, the physical properties of matter, and about solids, liquids, and
gases. In addition, they should be able to tell you about physical changes
and chemical changes. We have done a few experiments, including changing a
solid to a liquid and then to a gas!
If you would like to send in a treat for the class on your child's
birthday: Please send it with your child in the morning to be distributed to
the class at 10 A. M. recess. It should be a healthy snack, such as,
fruit, cheese and crackers, low-fat muffins. It is extremely important that
any snack you send be completely nut - free. In addition, check package
labeling to make sure the items were processed in a nut - free environment.
Birthday treats can also be non - edible, such as a pencil or highlighter.
Please do not send in drinks unless they are in individual containers that
students can just pick up on their way out the door. Thanks!
Remember that the schoolhouse icon on the homepage will take you to the
Chaparral School website. I have a page on this website as well, with some
additional information and documents that can be downloaded. In addition, you
can access the Reading Counts list from the school website. You can find it by
going to Learning Links and clicking on Chaparral Library.
