I'm a native the San Francisco Peninsula, growing up in South San Francisco. I
graduated with a degree in Biology from San Francisco State University. I also
completed my post-graduate education from San Francisco State University.
This is my fourteenth year at Cipriani Elementary School. I've taught 3rd,
4th, and 5th grade and every combination class of those three grade levels
during my tenure at Cipriani.
I am currently a member of the Belmont-Redwood Shores School District Math
Committee and the Belmont-Redwood Shores Technology Committee. Twice a year, I
teach multiple subject credential candidates (future elementary school
teachers)from Notre Dame de Namur University about a reading program called
Literature Circles.
In 2002, I was awarded the Kent Award for the Word of the Day vocabulary
program. In 2006 I was given the honor of Educator of the Year for the
Belmont-Redwood Shores School District. Chris Suydam and I were awarded a Kent
Award for our work with Notre Dame de Namur University Student Teachers,
sharing our Literature Circle programs in the fourth and fifth grades.
