My name is Heather Pouelsen. I have been teaching First Grade at Circle
View for 16 years. I attended California State Long Beach where I received
my Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Studies with a concentration in Human
Development. Four years ago I went on to earn a Masters Degree in Literacy
and Reading. My husband is Sean, and I have two children. My son,Logan is 13
and is in the Eigth grade and my daughter,Payton is 10 and is in the Fourth
grade. I have been married to my husband Sean for 17
years. I live in Huntington Beach. I have 2 dogs and 3 cats.
My mission is to ensure that any child I teach will have every and all
opportunities to reach their full potential. I will instill in them
positive beliefs so that they will believe that they can achieve anything
they set their minds to do. I will always hold the highest expectations for
each one of my students, and treat them with respect like capapble human
beings. I will create a strict, structured, non-threatening, loving
environment for all students to learn in. I will always focus on their
assets and help to build up their weaknesses. Through my teaching I will
instill a love of learning and school. Most of all I would like for my
students to leave my class proficient in their skills and believing that I
truly cared for them and to know that each and every one of them is Special.
