ICE CREAM for BOOKS!
At Condit School
September 2008
Dear Students and Parents,
It’s time to start the Condit School Accelerated Reader program for the Third through Sixth grades. The
purpose of this program is to accelerate growth in reading ability and foster a love of reading in all
students. The theme is Ice Cream for Books! Students who complete this program will receive a trophy
at a special Reading Awards Assembly in June.
Each trimester a Personal Goal will be established by the teachers along with each student, and consists
of three components:
1. Average percent correct
2. Points earned
3. Average book level
A Snack Ticket to be redeemed at Condit’s Snack Bar will be earned at the end of each trimester if a
student has reached his or her personal goal.
In addition, certificates for new books can be earned by the students for reaching his or her
Certification Level, which is set based on the Star Reading assessment.
Requirements to earn a trophy are simply to reach your personal Accelerated Reader goal at least two of
the three trimesters this year.
If there are any questions please just ask! Now let’s START READING!
