Dear Parents,
Kindergarten students will begin spelling homework and spelling
tests this week. The following are activities you can do with
your child to prepare for the spelling test on Fridays.
Both, Kindergarten and First Grade students can
do these activities.
1) Say the words, clap and spell the words, sound out the words
and write the words.
2) Make flash cards and practice reading and spelling the words
aloud.
3) Read the words together.
4) Take a practice test.
5) Write the word and draw a picture to match.
6) Write the words with your finger using whipped cream or dry
jello on a plate (yum!). Say the letters out loud as you
spell the word (s).
7) Practice the words each night along with the dictation
sentence.
**Dictation Sentences will be noted on the
homework if it is included for the week.
