I totally messed up on my test! How can I retake a test?

                           TESTS!

For anyone desiring a retake. A few simple rules:

* You must complete all missing homework assignmets for concepts
or the chapter the test covers

* You must to re-do any "3" (incomplete)homework assignments for
the concepts or the chapter the test covers.

*The student must have a conversation with me and tell me which
test, spefically what content the test will cover. Is it
integers, algebraic, or fractions, etc. In other words, the
student must tell me what/how they studied for the test and what
the test is about.

*The student must make arraingments of when and where they will
take the test. Elective Period, E Period, after school, during
lunch in library. I may or may not have a test ready for you if
you show up unannounced.

How do I check grades online?

                       GRADEBOOK ONLINE

Here is the best way to check your student grades online:

Go to this link:

http://www.rcsdk8.org/cooley.html

Select “Parent Gradebook”

When looking at the gradebook you will see red assignments. Don’t
panic. To
the left of the screen select the class (math) and run the “ALL
ASSIGNMENTS”
report. The page willopen for all math assignments. Math homework
will have 5
possible scores:

10 on time, complete
5 late, complete
3 incomplete, late or not
“Z” missing, assignment. All papers have been scored
and entered
and it is not there.
BLANK not yet recorded in gradebook. It may be turned in,
graded and
written on a score sheet.

The ones to be concerned with are the “Z” scores. If there is a 0
(zero) that
means the student actually scored a “0” on the assignment or test
(I hope
not!). A “0” would only occur if they turned in a blank sheet
with their name
on it.

I hope this helps.

Thank you,

What if I am really struggling with an assignment?

First - Reread the textbook. Look at some sample problems. Look
at your notes.
Next - If you are really stuck, I will expect you to be able to
tell me what PART of the problem
was confusing. I will ask to see how you have attempted to solve
the problem by showing me the
work you have tried.
ALWAYS - keep going, if you are stuck on a problem, try the next
one and some from other
sections of the homework. At least write down every problem and
make an attempt.

How do I get home if I miss my bus? Or if I am in a club/sport?

Unfortunately, there is no longer a late bus. Call the district
office to get the late bus started again.
For now, a city bus stops at the corner of Prarie Woods and Blue
Oaks....or call a friend.
