California Junior Scholarship Federation (CJSF)
Fast Facts:
Only open to 7th and 8th graders
Membership is NOT automatic. Students must apply for membership during the first three weeks of
every trimester.
Membership is based on the following guidelines:
• Must be a good citizen (no students on admin probation)
• NO grades lower than 70%
• POINT SYSTEM: (Students must earn 10 or more points each trimester.)
Points earned as follows:
o Grade of 90% or higher – 3 points
o Grade of 80% or higher – 1 point
o Grade of 70% or higher – 0 points
o No points are given for P.E. or TA classes
Rewards:
• Gold pin – students who qualify for two trimesters in 7th grade and two trimesters in 8th grade
• Certificate at promotion - students who qualify for two trimesters in 7th grade and two trimesters
in 8th grade
• Field Trips – based on membership each trimester
Important Dates:
End of Trimester One – November 18, 2011
Application Period – November 28-December 16, 2011
Skatetown Ice Skating Field Trip – January 12, 2012
T-shirt Orders Due - January 16, 2012
See's Candy Valentine's Day fundraiser orders due - February 1, 2012
