I am a second generation teacher, so I guess the argument could be made that
teaching is in my blood. I think I have the best job in the world and I
have never wanted to do anything else.
After graduating from CSU Sacramento with a degree in Ethnic Studies, I went
on to the University of San Francisco where I earned both a teaching
credential and a Masters degree. Before coming to Cooley in 2006, I taught
U.S. History, Economics and American Government at a local high school.
Today, I balance teaching Social Studies with raising my two children. When
I'm not at Cooley, I am most likely to be found at the karate dojo, baseball
field or pool deck cheering on my kids.
I believe that Social Studies is the most interesting area of study because
it is all about PEOPLE (their beliefs, culture, religion and past
behavior). My hope is that by learning about others, my students will
become more empathetic and understanding as they move out of the classroom
and into society.
