How do I find out what my child has for homework?
Check your child's planner. Everyday, for the last 5 minutes of the period,your child copies down the homework from the homework chart on the board intotheir planner. If you need to verify that the homework is correct, call thehomework hotline, 771-1745 ext. 167 or check the homework section on this website.Back to Top

How does AR (accelerated reader) work?
Your child takes a STAR reading comprehension test at the beginning of eachtrimester to find out what their ZPD (zone of proximal development) is. Pointgoals are given based on the ZPD. Students read AR books within their zoneand once finished take a test either in the library before school, at lunch orafter school or in my classroom. If a book is worth 10 points and they score90%, they receive 90% of the possible points-9 points.Back to Top

Ask you child to bring home their work when it is passed out. You can alsohave your child get a weekly progress report every Friday. He/She will pickthis up in the office Friday morning and bring it to all of their teachers tofill out.Back to Top
