This is my 20th year teaching. I got into education after having been in the wine business for 10 years.
I have been in Castro Valley for 15 years. The past two years I worked for Alameda County as a Math
Coach, helping teachers and students in the Alameda Unified School District. I am very happy to be
back at Creekside. I missed the wonderful community that I call my second home. I love sports and
have done quite a bit of coaching at Creekside: 8th grade boys' flag football, 8th grade boys' and girls'
basketball, 6th and 7th grade boys' flag football, and also girls' softball. I spent a year as co-activities
director and have been a team leader and math department chair. Currently, I am the math department
co-chair with Mary Cummins. I look forward to working with you and your children. I consider it a
privilege and an honor!

My mission is to provide my students with the tools and knowledge that will enable them to realize their
potential and be successful in the area of mathematics. I will make sure that all students have an
opportunity to thrive in a safe, risk-taking environment. My hope is to make math engaging and fun, so
that students will want to go on to higher levels of mathematics!
