Hello all!
I'm back! And happy to be here. I missed my kids and am excited to end the
year with everyone.
The Giver is the final unit of the year. This science fiction book takes place
in a dystopia, or imperfect world, that mirrors our own. The main character,
12 year old Jonas, struggles to find a balance between the outside world, and
life within the community. Ask your child about the difficult choices Jonas
has to make.
AR (period 1/2): Read, read, read! You MUST reach your AR goal by June 5th! It
is the last day to take quizzes. Remember that reaching your AR goal can raise
your grade significantly.
Book Report: Periods 3/4, 5/6: The Biography book report is due the week
ending with June 5th. Sign ups took place on Monday, so everyone should know
what day they will present. The forms are on the Handouts page of this website.
Vocabulary Unit 14 will be introduced Tuesday, May 19. The quiz will be the
following Thursday or Friday.
