How can I help my child improve in reading?

Have your child read 15 to 20 minutes each day to a parent or sibiling.
After reading, ask
your child questions about what they have read. Model to your child how you
think when reading a book so they can learn those skills as well. Also,
please
make sure that your child completes their reading homework nightly. It is
important to improve their reading skills.

How can I help my child improve in math?

The biggest math skill that you can work on with your child in fourth grade
is
helping them memorize their multiplication tables. This is such an important
skill and is incorporated in much of the math we do in 4th grade that if they
are not easily recalled, then the students will struggle with the larger
problems we do. Also, complete nightly homework as well.

When is a good time to meet with the teacher?

I am usually at school by 8am and stay until anywhere from 4pm to 5pm. Also,
each parent is given my school phone number and home number so if I am not at
school I can be reached. Also, I can be emailed at tiny4foot10@yahoo.com if
you can not contact me by phone. I will respond quickly.

Is homework due every day?

Yes, most of the time, there is some homework due each day. Make sure you
check your child's planner each night to see what is due and when it is due.
Your child takes time to record the homework in their planners at the end of
each day and this homework will be due the next day.

Will you accept late work?

Late work will be accepted up until the Tuesday past the week it was
assigned.
One rubric grade will be subtracted for each day it is late. For example; if
an assignment is due on Tuesday and not turned in until Thursday, the highest
grade it can receive is a 2. Excused absences are the only exception. Each
day
that a student is absent and the absences are excused will be added onto the
length of time the student has to complete the assignment.
