California Reading List (CRL)
Reading and literacy skills provide students with the keys to lifelong
learning. The more students read, the better readers they will become.
Every effort needs to be made both in school and at home to get students to
do as much reading as possible. Please review the site instructions to view
a differentiated student reading list based on each student's ELA CST score.
Based on your student's score on the California ELA CST, a specific list has been deemed appropriate for him/her in terms of reading difficulty and interest level.
This link is from the www.californiacareers.info home page. The link
synthesized a list of activities, guides, and information on how students
can begin the college preparation path specific to California. I thought
that the link had some very relevant data and information.

This web site has three graded zones (K-3, 4-8, 9-12) that answer kids' most
commonly asked questions, e.g., how does a cell phone work? Kids will want
to click on the "Satellite Learning Center" to find out how communication
satellites work. The glossary of well-known, but often not understood,
communication terms is a "must see" for children and adults (from School
Library Journal).
