Is Homework important?

Of course not... Unless you want to be successful, then it is incredibly
important. Homework allows you the chance to practice what you have learned.
It makes quizzes and tests much easier. On top of that homework is a large
part of your grade. So maybe it is a little important.

What if I don't like math?

Most students don't like math. I don't ask that you like it just that you try
as hard as you can. If you are willing to put a little effort into it you can
be sucessful in math.

When will I ever use math in the 'real world?'

Math is used every day in very important ways. Simple things such as balancing
a checkbook to reading a paystub. We live in a very dishonest world.
Understanding math can keep you from being taken advantage of. Plus you now
have to pass the CAHSEE. (See #4)

What is the CAHSEE?

The CAHSEE is the California High School Exit Exam. All California students
are required to take this test in order to graduate from high school. Half of
this test is a math test. The CAHSEE math section is based on 7th grade
standards. If you can pass Algebra Readiness this year you should have no
problem with the CAHSEE.
