20 WEEK
DANCE: 6th Grade students will practice and be able to perform folk and line dances. They will be able to identify dance steps and rhythmic patterns. They will participate in small and large groups cooperatively. They will enjoy music and dance. 7th Grade students will practice and be able to perform a variety of multi-cultural dances. They will combine locomotor and non-locomotor movements into patterns. They will demonstrate acceptance of differences and development as well as personal preferences while creating dances in small groups.
LONG-HANDLED IMPLEMENTS: Students will incoroporate fitness concepts while playing a variety of games using long-handled implements. These games include: golf, lacrosse and softball.
TRACK MEET: There will be an All Star Relay Event and Sprint events with the top runners in June and an award assembly during PE.
NUTRITION BOOKLET: Students will learn about basic nutrition using their Dairy Council Nutrition Booklets.
