Ms. Bocanegra earned her B.A. in English and Communication at the University
of Davis, California in 2003. She earned her single subject teaching
credential in 2004 and a M.A. in Education in 2005. This is her sixth year
teaching English at Douglass Middle School. She has also worked at Florin
High School in Sacramento, CA.

She has coached the Douglass Middle School cross-country and/or track teams for
three years, has worked on the AVID site council, was a BTSA mentor, has
worked as a school site Team Leader, and has taught summer school. She is
currently the 7th grade English department chair and oversees a campus writing
club.
This course will provide students with standards-based instruction in Language
Arts and reading. Students will master grade level writing, reading, speaking
and listening skills. At the end of this course, students will be well
prepared for a successful experience in high school and will be confident,
critical thinkers.
