Miss Bocanegra earned her B.A. in English and Communication at the University
of
Davis, California in 2003. She earned her single subject teaching credential
in 2004
and a M.A. in Education in 2005. This is her fourth year teaching English
at Douglass Middle School. She has also worked at Florin High School in
Sacramento, CA.
Related Work:
She has coached the Douglass Middle School cross-country and track teams for
two years, worked on the AVID site council, and taught summer school. She is
currently the 7th grade English department chair, oversees a campus writing
club and is a BTSA mentor.
This course will provide students with standards-based instruction in Language
Arts
and reading. Students will master grade level writing, reading, speaking and
listening
skills. At the end of this course, students will be well prepared for a
successful
experience in high school and will be confident, critical thinkers.
