What a fabulous time we all had at the Fourth Grade Fiesta! The kids worked
so hard on their square dancing for the past three weeks to prepare, and I
think everyone would agree that they gave us a wonderful performance. We then
celebrated with a yummy BBQ chicken lunch. It was great to see everyone
socializing and enjoying themselves in the sun. And of course, it would not
have been a fiesta without a piñata. Our piñata didn’t last too long, but
everyone got their candy and enjoyed trying to get the stuck bag of candy out
of the tree. Thankfully Erika’s candy bag was rescued.
January flew by and I’m sure February will be the same. We are still plugging
away each day and I’m amazed to see how much growth these students have made.
If you get a chance, sneak a peek in your child’s Literary Response Journal.
The class has really impressed me with their responses. We've got some
thinkers in our room!
Please be sure to check your child’s homework daily. I have seen some effort
and assignment completion dwindle the past week. It is way too early
for “spring fever” so please check-in and follow-up with your child’s school
work at home and I will continue to work on his/her effort and responsibility
on the school end. Thanks!
We have a few holidays as well as a very simple Valentine’s Celebration in
February. Please check the calendar and note any paperwork coming home with
information regarding our celebration. I will post it to our website soon.
As always, please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions,
comments, or concerns.
