Where is our class room ?
We are in room E-18 all year. Our morning line is #E-18 just
like our classroom. We line up on the cement area right near our
classroom door.

Our Library day for the 2011/2012 school year is FRIDAY.
That makes our bring back day be Thursdays, please!
What is Spirit Wear? What are Special Spirit Wear Days?
Spirit wear is a Donner shirt or a Donner Distinguished School
shirt. These can be purchased from the front office. Solid navy
blue, solid gray, or solid white shirts can also count as spirit
wear. We wear our spirit wear each Friday to show our Donner
spirit. If our class has the most Donner shirts we win the spirit
trophy for the week!! Special Spirit Wear Days are when we pick
a special theme like Red, White and Blue day or Career Day.
What are the times for a typical school day and minimum days?
Regular school days are from 8:10 AM to 2:30 PM. The first bell
is a get ready bell and it rings at 8:07. By 8:10 all students
should be in their lines ready to starth the day.
Minimum days are from 8:10 AM to 12:40 PM. We have a minimum day
once a month to allow for track change, meaning one track is
going off for vacation, and one track is about to return from
vacation.
What is the latest Fundraiser?

Where is my child at the end of the day?
You can always meet us outside the door of our room at 2:30PM.
If your child has not found someone there by 2:40, I will walk
them up to the front to wait in the front area where there are
always teachers and principals on duty. If there is still no
ride by 2:45, students wait inside the office where there are
nice ladies, principals, and telephones.
How are birthdays handled in class?
We do celebrate birthdays in our room as long as the treat is a
low maintenance one. These celebrations must be quick (but fun)
and usually happen at the end of the day around 2:10 PM. If your
child would like to bring a treat, please make it something quick
to pass out and quick to clean up. Please no goodie bags. We
simply do not have time. Cupcakes, cookies, and fruit snacks are
just a few examples. However, anything that requires cutting,
scooping, or pouring is discouraged. There is also a safety law
that prohibits balloons in school, and a no gum rule.
Thank you for understanding. Treats are optional. If your child's
birthday falls on a weekend or during our off track time, we can
pick a close day to celebrate the school birthday.
Where does my child line up on rainy mornings?
If it is raining in the morning, your child may come straight to
our classroom. No earlier than 7:55, please. Thank you.
Who do I make checks out to for Field Trips?
Please make your field trip checks out to Donner Elementary.
Write your child's name on the memo line.
Who do I make checks out to for book orders?
Please make your book order checks out to Scholastic Books so
that your check can be sent to the company that sends us the
books. It is very helpful if you write a check or get a money
order for bookorders as Scholastic does not allow me to send them
cash. If you send cash, I must take it and get a money order for
it.
How much is lunch and who do I give lunch money to?
Hot lunch costs $2.50 per day. You may drop the money off in the
office or send it in with your child to our classroom. You may
pay for as many days as you'd like at one time. It really helps
if you put lunch money in an envelope or a baggy and label it
with your child's lunch number. Thank you.
What is the Student Store and what is sold there?
The student store is a nice cool way to end a hard working week!
Ice cream and other chilly treats all sell for $1.00. It is only
open on Fridays after school near the back of the G building.
You'll see the hungry crowd gathering! All proceeds benefit
Donner!
