HOMEWORK REMINDERS

*Please remember that all homework should be done in pencil unless stated otherwise.  When coloring, please use crayons or colored pencils.  No markers please as they soak through the page and are messy.

*Please check to be sure all work it completed NEATLY and when writing use the top, middle, and bottom lines to ensure proper letter formation.

Additional Homework Ideas
Dear Parents,

   Here are some suggestions for optional additional homework if you would like for your child to do more than the weekly homework packets.

Reading
   * Have your child do extra reading daily.
   * After reading a story, ask your child to repeat the story in his/her own
     words.  
  * Take your child to the local library to check out books.
  * Take your child to a free story-telling presentation at a local library or
     bookstore.
    

Mathematics
   * Practice counting and recognizing numbers to 20 and beyond.
   * Practice writing numbers to 20 and beyond.
   * Practice making different patterns.  (AB, AAB, ABB, ABC)
  

Writing
   * Have your child practice writing his/her name on lined paper.
   * Have your child practice writing uppercase and lowercase letters Aa - Zz.
   * Have your child write in his/her journal.
   * Help your child to write a letter(s) to a grandparent, relative, or friend.
   * Have your child write two sentences and illustrate them.
