What do you do after you finish a book?

There are several different ways to get credit for the book you read.
1. If it is an Accelerated Reading Book take the test. After you pass the
test, fill out an AR form and have Mrs. Erwin or Ms. Beatty sign it. Put it in
the "READ READ" folder. These forms can be found in the library and in the
classroom.
2. If it is not an AR book (or you don't pass the AR test for that book) then
you will need to fill out a book report form. These forms are found in the
classroom and on Ms. Beatty's website. After the form is completed, put it in
the "READ READ" folder.
3. Each month a book project will be assigned. The instructions will be
given and explained to you. If it is an AR book you may take the test to get
points, but you do not need to fill out any other forms.

How do I know what homework I have?

Each day, homework is written on the board. At the end of the day we will
write those assignments in our Assignment Books. At that time Ms. Beatty will
remind the class which books/papers to take home. The assignments will also
be posted on Ms. Beatty's website.

Can I turn in my homework late?

Do your best to get any homework assignment turned in on time. If you do not
get an assignment completed and turned in on time you will get your name on
the board. When you do get it completed, 15% will be taken off your score.

Why do I have to file all my papers in my binder?

You need to file all your papers for several reasons. Sometimes we refer back
to them during a lesson to help with another lesson. You will need to use
them to prepare for quizzes and tests. They also give you and your parents a
good idea on how you are doing in a particular subject. Once grades for the
quarter are finalized you can clean out your binder for the next quarter.
