How do I count the reading pages for the reading goal?

Please count 1 page as 1 page. If the pages are from young chapter books
this is a good gage. Your child can certainly read other types of books
with
less print so it usually balances out. The main idea is to have your child
reading material at their level. (Target about 10 pages per day).

How does the Accelerated Reading Program work with the Reading Goal?

The pages that are read for the AR Program can be logged onto the monthly
reading goal. The reading goal is ongoing through the entire year and the
AR
Program gives prizes and incentives through the library.

What about field trips?

Second Grade Field Trips

In second grade we have two outstanding educational field trips
planned for this year. Because our curriculum is so full, we supplement our
thematic units with projects and great educational videos in class that will
add to your childs learning experience.

Both second grade classes will travel together on our field trips so
we have found it necessary to limit the amount of parents from each class.
We have found that 7-10 adults per class is an adequate number and stays
within the guidelines given to us.

	Our field trips will be:
	Sea World Educational Penguin Encounter

	Rawhide Ranch in Bonsall

Information will be available regarding these field trips soon.
