JANUARY
English:
We will return on Monday with a review of the chapter. After
that, we will have a test on chapter 5 on January 7th, Thursday. Get
ready, because in chapter 6 we will learn to write a persuasive
essay. That way we will be able to persuade you better. Ha, Ha!
Math:
The concepts covered this month include the following:
review of previously learned information, measurements, converting
measurements and seven as a factor/divisor. Keep practicing those
multiplication facts up through the eights.
Social Studies:
Mrs. Nielsen will be teaching them about William Penn and
Benjamin Franklin. She will also go into greater detail about the
elements and use of a map.
Science:
We will continue our study of organisms of long ago.
Reading:
We will read Stone Fox by John Reynolds Gardiner (I don’t
know how to underline book titles on this program.) The skills we
will primarily work on will be: recalling facts, details, and
comprehension skills.
Bible:
Our themes this month will be on The Master’s Plan and His
Harvest Field.
Classroom Update:
Thank you to Mrs. Dunn and Mrs. Henson for all they did for
our Happy Birthday Jesus Party. Wow! These ladies went all out for
your children.
