DECEMBER

ENGLISH:
A study of friendly letters will culminate with a test on
December 1st, Tuesday. Then the students will begin studying: past,
present, and helping verbs in chapter 5.

MATH:
The concepts covered this month will include: six as a
divisor, finding the unknown number in an equation, multiplying and
dividing money, and measuring to the nearest centimeter. Keep
practicing the multiplication facts 0-7’s. It is evident who is
practicing!

SOCIAL STUDIES:
Mrs. Nielsen will teach on William Penn.

SCIENCE:
There will be an open book test over chapter 2 on Dec. 4, Friday.
Then we will begin to study chapter 3. Some of this chapter has
information which we will be skipping, as it does not align with our
Christian views.

READING:
Some of the skills covered this month will include:
observing character traits, comprehension, recalling facts and
details. We will take a break from our regular reading primer, and
read the novel Stone Fox (I can't get this program to underline book
titles). Keep encouraging your child to meet the
monthly reading goal. By Open House Night, your child should have
read 3,500 pages. Ask your child about the Pizza Hut “Book-It”
program that runs through March.

BIBLE:
The births of John the Baptist and Jesus will be our focal
points this month.

Classroom Update:
A BIG THANK YOU TO Mrs. Campbell and Mrs. Furbush for our
Thanksgiving fun. Also, thanks again to Mrs. Eide for overseeing the
planning.
