Family
I have been married for 34 years to a special education teacher at Carlsbad
High School. We have two daughters who are both grown. Kelly (25) is
married and works for the Department of Defense in the Washington DC area and
Angel (23) is a psychiatric nurse at the VA hospital in LaJolla.
Teaching background
I began teaching in 1975 at a Christian School in the LA area and have
continued in the education field since then. I have my California state
credential, ACSI credential, a masters in teaching and learning, and a
reading certificate. My classroom experiences include all grades K-8 except
first. My educational support experience includes creating and running a lab
for children with learning disabilities,
creating and running computer labs, teaching intercession classes in reading,
writing, and math and teaching intensive reading. I headed the PLP
department for 4 years at ECS before becoming the Junior High English
teacher. This is my 3rd year in the English department at ECS. I also
homeschooled my girls from K thru 8th grade. I love kids and I
love teaching them. I love English! I am looking forward to once again
teaching junior high English. Grammar and writing are my favorite subjects.

Dog - Maya, a black lab, 4 years old, and quite a handful. But.. I love
her anyway.
Favorites
color - purple or pink
food - Mexican food, especially fish tacos, chocolate
coffee - decaf mocha or frap light. Actually anything that doesn't taste
like coffee but tastes like
chocolate, sugar, and cream.
hobbies - surfing, softball, roller blading, camping, sudoku puzzles,
flowers (growing them)
hiking, outdoors kind of things
