What does genre mean?

Genre means a certain type or category of books. For example: a 
mystery or a 
fiction story. Your teacher might assign a certain genre for 
your next book 
report.

How do I find a particular book in the library?

Go into "Easy word search" than put into the name of 
book or the author.

Summer Reading for 2009

Log on to www.scholastic.com/summer 1. log in  2. Opt in to be 
part of the Read for the World Record challenge  3. Select your 
state, city and Escondido Christian School from a drop-down menu
4. Start logging minutes, and check back often to see your 
school's progress!  happy reading

Can you put a book on hold?

Yes,  a book can be saved for 1 day. If it's not picked up by 
then it 
will go back on the shelf so that someone else may be able to 
take it out.

Can students use the internet in the library?

Yes, with permission from the librarian and it is for school 
research only!

Can I check out Encyclopedias?

No, Encyclopedias are reference books and may be used in the 
library only.
