The 2011-2012 school year marks my 25th year in teaching, all at Forest Hill. I grew up locally,
attending Leigh High School and San Jose State. I have a Master's Degree in Education, along with
obtaining and a Technology Certificate (120 hrs. of training-never enough!)
I met my husband, Dan, at work during my 8 years at National Semiconductor.
We have one son, Joshua, who is entering the 5th grade.
Besides teaching, I enjoy spending time at Joshua's school and learning about Joshua's Cub Scout
year as a Webelos. Three years ago, I even became a Cub Scout Leader! My hobbies include digital
photography, scrapbooking and relaxing by the pool. I live 5 houses away from another 3rd grade
teacher, Mrs. Schlief, who by the way, went to Prospect High School with my husband and they were
good friends.
Small world!
This summer was a very busy, but was sure fun-filled. We had our annual trip to South Lake Tahoe
and spent time with family. Later, we had a nice week in Lanai and Oahu. Then we finished up our
summer aboard the Disney Dream cruise ship. That'll probably be our only packed vacation!
I am very eager to return full-time to Forest Hill. It has always been my home, and I love teaching 3rd
grade! This should be an awesome year and hope to meet you all very soon.
"Try Your Best" - also a Cub Scout Motto, but a good one! I want our students to know they don't have
to know everything right away and that it's smart to ask for help. I hope I can instill a love for learning,
in a way that carries on as a life skill. They'll learn that mistakes are part of learning and that laughter
can help with most everything.
