GOALS OF THE GATE PROGRAM
1. To provide a coordinated, well-defined district program that affords all
GATE students with differentiated learning experiences that are challenging
and self-generated, emphasizing higher level thinking skills including
problem solving and critical analysis as well as leadership, improved
communication and time management skills.
2. To provide differentiation in the forms of accelleration, depth,
complexity, and novelty.
3. To provide opportunities for developing social interaction skills and to
enhance students' integration in socially diverse populations through
projects that encourage student interaction.
4. To provide for effective parent education, participation, and program
planning.
5. To provide program evaluation for effective accountability and decision-
making.
