I was born and raised in Santa Cruz, CA. I feel most at home in Northern CA. I
love my family and being with them is my greatest joy. I love being a teacher.
I have so much fun with my students and it amazes me every year how much they
grow both academically and socially. I prefer to be a guide to my students,
rather than to direct them. I believe the learning students gain from this
style of teaching is more permanent. They take ownership of their choices and
consequently what they learn is their own, not something I forced upon them.
The end of the year is always difficult for me, because I know that I will see
much less of my class in the future. However, I will be proud of my students
in anything they apply themselves toward and they can always come see me or

To acquire an intrinsic enjoyment and passion for learning, and the skill-set to
support it.
