Dear Golden Families
Just last week I spoke to Mr. John L. Golden, who our school was named after. Mr. Golden worked diligently on behalf of students for the Etiwanda School District for over 30 years, and he exemplifies what is best in education as well as what is best in humanity. He is kind, thinks before he acts, and consistently demonstrates the good you create in others by believing in them and by giving them responsibility. We talked about what makes Etiwanda such a wonderful school district, and Mr. Golden said it is because each person matters. He expressed the importance and power of making a personal and meaningful connection, one person at a time.
When I look at Golden’s school community I feel optimistic. There is a genuine feeling of care. Parents, students and staff show support and respect for one another. Our lovely children demonstrate through their service projects compassion for others.I see students developing the academic and social skills that will serve them well in life. A walk across campus serves as a reminder of just how hopeful we can be of the future when it will be in the hands of hard working and caring individuals like our students.
I want to express the pride I have for our students and school. I am grateful to call Golden Elementary School my home away from home. It warms my heart to know that the members of our school community live up to the “Golden” ideals of compassion, hard work, and promoting personal responsibility. Thank you, Golden families for everything you do to support students and staff. Golden Elementary School would not be “Golden” without you!
Warmly,
Sherri Carmean
