Our school is named for John L. Golden, who worked for the children of Etiwanda School District for 32 years. Mr. Golden served the Etiwanda School community as a teacher, principal, Assistant Superintendent, and eventually as the Superintendent of the Etiwanda School District. Mr. Golden contributed to the philosophy of education that permeates the Etiwanda School District and Golden Elementary.

Message from the Principal

Greetings Golden families,

Our 2015-16 school year is off to a great start! It has been so wonderful to visit classrooms each day and see students learning their new procedures and routines as we begin a fantastic year. Our district theme this year is “Powered Up For Student Success” and our students are well on their way! All students in grades 1 – 5 have been issued Chromebooks. Additionally, our kindergarten classes have Chromebooks for small group use. It is very exciting to see students engaged in learning while using technology in all subject areas.

I am so happy to announce that Golden Elementary has been named one of the CBEE Honor Roll Schools for 2014! Each year, CBEE presents this award to individual schools and districts that have excelled in raising student achievement. This is a testament to our incredible families, our amazing staff and our students’ persistent focus on academic success. Way to go Golden Stars!

I would also like to share with you that beginning Wednesday, September 16, students may join me in the library before school at 7:45 for Morning Stories With Mrs. Wildes. Every Wednesday, it will be my honor to read to our students and engage them in literature. This will be a wonderful time together. I hope to see your student there!

As we settle into our routines and begin to turn the pages of great learning, please know how much I appreciate this wonderful community. Your warm welcome and continued support for our school has genuinely impressed upon me what a wonderful place this is for students to grow and learn.

Warmest Wishes,
Mrs. Wildes
