Dear Third Grade Parents,

I hope that many of you have logged into the First In Math site and
are having fun. Each child should start with Skill Set 1 and then progress
through as many levels as possible. There are lots of games if you browse
through the site. Each day one child who has played on the site will be
awarded the Player of the Day badge.

I will be sending home a username and password attached to this note
so that you will be able to practice your words on the Spelling City
website. Please check it out and take advantage of all the opportunities to
play with each week’s words. Go to Spelling City and log on!

I am sending home two Scholastic flyers. Please look over the
magazines and if you would like to purchase materials send in your order form
by this Thursday, September 22.

FIRST BOOK REPORT – DUE OCTOBER 14

Students will choose a Historical Fiction book when we go to the library this
Wednesday.

Children will follow the checklist given out on Wednesday and fill in the
writing frame to make a story tree. Look for the form and keep it at home
until completed.

Check your child’s binder and make sure papers to be left at home are taken
out.

If you have not scheduled a conference time for the end of October please
make sure to check with me before or after school.

Serving the Master Teacher,
Mrs. Knight

God's blessings! Welcome to the 3A webpage!

This year our theme is "3A All-Stars--Leaders in Academics, Attitude, and
Awesomeness."
What does that mean? We'll encourage every third grader to excel in
academics by doing their best to
learn in lessons where we meet or exceed state standards. We'll encourage
each third grader to excel in
attitude by teaching about words of character in our devotions and
discussions throughout the day. And
finally, we'll encourage your third grader in awesomeness. What awesomeness
exactly? Not their
awesomeness, but the awesomeness of God and how He works greatly in each and
every one of our lives
and how we can share that awesomeness with others.
You'll get updates throughout the year in the 3A All-Star News in how we are
being leaders in these
three ways!
