The students should always know what homework is due and when by looking at
their Language Arts Calendar which is in their Language Arts binder. There
is a copy of this calendar on this website (under the photos/docs link) for
your convenience.
Students will do well to look ahead at their week and see which bigger
assignments are coming. I try to always give several days' notice when
assigning any homework. If students work on a little Language Arts each day,
they will begin to feel more organized and relaxed. Waiting until the night
before is not the way my program is designed to work!
At any given time, the 7th and 8th graders should always be "in the middle
of" an AR book. They have several deadlines each trimester to meet, so as
soon as they finish one book, they should begin another. All students have a
copy of the AR requirements due each trimester as well as a copy of the
junior high book list in their LA binders.
